As the evenings get cooler here in the Northern CA foothills I can’t stop dreaming about the perfect mountain cabin. This time of year is my favorite to visit Lake Tahoe, just 1 1/2 hours from our home. It’s so gorgeous with the changing leaves and the fall colors. The crowds are gone this time of year and it’s the perfect time to walk the shores of the lake and really take in the surroundings without tourists everywhere.
My favorite cabin style is mountain modern and I’m always perusing pictures of perfect mountain modern getaways for inspiration. Mountain modern design is also something I encourage my clients to use in their homes in the foothills too. It’s a nice way to update a home with a nice clean modern aesthetic that also recognizes where we are geographically and we can do subtle hints of more masculine mountain pieces along with the modern. Mountain Modern design can be described as clean, warm, inviting and architectural. With muted tones and a relaxing color scheme, mountain modern homes beckon their visitors with relaxing interiors that induce relaxation.
